Poverty Alleviation & Social Intervention
Governor Nasir Idris has prioritized social welfare through the Kebbi State Social Investment Programme, focusing on reducing poverty and supporting the most vulnerable citizens. A key part of this initiative was the distribution of ₦6.5 billion in cash transfers to 65,000 beneficiaries, providing direct financial relief to low-income households across the state. In addition to financial aid, the government has organized large-scale food distribution efforts, supplying essential food items to displaced persons and victims of natural disasters, such as flooding in communities like Argungu. These interventions ensure that vulnerable families receive both immediate support and longer-term assistance, reflecting the governor’s commitment to inclusive development and social protection.
